Mivo

Terms of Use

Last updated — March 2, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Mivo ("Mivo," the "App," or the "Service"). Mivo is a voice-powered productivity assistant for macOS. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mivo, including the website, desktop application, and all related services.

By accessing or using Mivo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. License

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Mivo for personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Circumvent security, access controls, or usage limits
  • Use Mivo to violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Use Mivo to surveil, spy on, or collect information about others without their consent
  • Misuse screen visibility or system-level features
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell access to Mivo

3. Screen Visibility & Contextual Access

When explicitly activated by you, Mivo may access visible portions of your screen to determine context, identify input fields, or act on highlighted content.

  • Screenshots are processed in memory only
  • Screenshots are never stored
  • Screen data is used solely to fulfill user-initiated actions
  • Mivo will always request your explicit permission before accessing screen content

4. Assistant Content, Tasks & Stored Outputs

When you use Mivo's assistant or automation features, Mivo may generate and store user-visible outputs, including assistant responses, generated text, task results, summaries, and conversation history.

These outputs are retained until deleted by you or until your account is deleted. Raw voice audio, screenshots, and third-party integration source data are not stored.

5. Third-Party Integrations (OAuth)

5.1 Authorized Access Only

Mivo supports optional integrations with third-party services through OAuth. Mivo accesses only data explicitly authorized through OAuth scopes, cannot access data outside granted permissions, and acts only on user-initiated commands.

Depending on the integration, Mivo may read, draft, create, modify, or retrieve content as explicitly requested by you.

5.2 No Unauthorized Background Actions

Mivo does not perform automated or background actions on connected third-party accounts without your knowledge. All actions occur in response to your explicit commands or automations you have configured and approved.

5.3 User Control & Revocation

You may revoke integration access at any time through:

  • Third-party account permissions
  • Mivo's in-app integration settings

Revoking access immediately disables related features.

6. Use of Google User Data

Mivo's access to Google user data is strictly limited to providing user-requested functionality. Mivo:

  • Does not store Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive source data
  • Processes Google data transiently to fulfill commands
  • Does not use Google data for advertising, analytics, personalization, or model training
  • Does not transfer Google data except to fulfill user requests, comply with law, or protect service security

All access to Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

7. Permissions & Sensitive Actions

For actions involving sensitive data or system access, Mivo will always ask for your explicit approval before proceeding. You can approve or deny each request individually, and you can revoke previously granted permissions at any time from macOS System Settings or within the Mivo app.

Mivo will never silently escalate access or use a permission for a purpose beyond what was described when you approved it.

8. Human Access to User Data

No one on the Mivo team may access user content except with your explicit consent, when required for security or abuse investigations, or when required by applicable law. Any permitted access is limited, logged, and audited.

9. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use Mivo only for lawful purposes
  • Obtain consent before processing others' data through Mivo
  • Not bypass or interfere with safety, security, or detection mechanisms
  • Not disrupt or degrade the Service

You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of AI-generated outputs.

10. AI Service Disclaimer

Mivo uses third-party AI systems (including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) to generate responses and perform tasks. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.

Mivo does not provide legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. You use all outputs at your own discretion and risk.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your Mivo account at any time. Upon deletion:

  • Authentication credentials and OAuth tokens are permanently removed
  • Stored assistant content and task history are deleted
  • No third-party integration source data persists (none is stored)

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Mivo is provided "as is" and "as available"
  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Mivo if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You misuse or attempt to bypass system protections
  • You pose a security, legal, or compliance risk
  • Required by law or regulatory authority

Upon termination, your license to use Mivo immediately ceases.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Mivo after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
